According to the back of these pictures, these are Peter B Cook Sr. and Mary Rose Marr Cook Sr. I do not know if the Marr in Mary's name is her maiden name or referring she was married to Cook Sr. Under the pictures you will see the backs where the writing is. As you can see, Mary's picture was sitting on top of Peter's picture for some time. You can see his picture on the back of hers.
According to the frames, these were taken by Anderson Photographer in Aberdeen. I have not had success in locating the location of this studio/photographer. If you have any information on this couple, please contact me. itsmemismelis@gmail.com
UPDATE:These photographs are heading home!!! I have been in contact with Peter B and Mary Rose (Marr) Cook's great grandson Doug Thomson. He is not sure how the photographs ended up at the swap meet but knows that the writing on the back is that of his grandmothers. Peter and Mary were born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Their daughter Mary Rose Marr Cook (Jr.) married James Adam Thomson in Scotland in 1922 before coming to the United States, through Ellis Island in 1923. Once in the United States they settled in California where they raised their family.
Doug shared a picture with me of his Father, Aunt, Grandmother-Mary Rose Marr Cook (Jr) and grandfather- James Adam Thomson (below). I am glad that he will now have the original pictures of his great grandparents to be passed on to further generations.
