Kareen Kjelstrup

Scrapbook returned 44 years after a journey that would never be forgotten by four men after graduating high school.

These photographs are heading home!!! I have been in contact with Peter B  and Mary Rose (Marr) Cook's great grandson Doug Thomson. He is not sure how the photographs ended up at the swap meet but knows that the writing on the back is that of his grandmothers. Peter and Mary were born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Their daughter Mary Rose Marr Cook (Jr.) married James Adam Thomson in Scotland in 1922 before coming to the United States, through Ellis Island in 1923. Once in the United States they settled in California where they raised their family.

Richard Elvin Grossman

I think one of the things I enjoy about reuniting family keepsakes is learning about the person, their family and where they come from. Kareen Kjelstrup life story is an interesting one.

Kareen Kjelstrup was born May 27, 1947 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Kareen was baptized and confirmed at Erdahl Lutheran Church. She graduated from Elbow Lake High School and also the University of Minnesota.

This is a military chest that belonged to Richard Patrick McJilton and I believe he was born August 3, 1947 in California. This was shipped from Wiesbaden, Germany to Capitola, CA.

Through research, I believe I have found that Richard Elvin Grossman was born February 13, 1959.
